Brother Knights,
Andale Knights of Columbus will meet at the K of C hall on January 10th at 8:00 pm. We will start with a rosary followed by the Council meeting and conclude with refreshments.
During the month of January we are hosting a Baby Shower for Gerard House by placing a donation box in the back of church. Gerard House is a home for unwed mothers-to-be, which is sponsored by Via Christi and the Catholic Diocese of Wichita. Gerard House provides a home, basic necessities, healthcare, and child care instruction. They can use any items for for babies, young children, or mothers. Items high on their priority list include clothes and diapers for premature babies and maternity clothes.
On January 21st, the K of C will host the Annual Free Throw Contest. It will take place in the Andale Middle School Gym (formerly AHS Gym B, where previous contests have been held) at 1:00 pm. Doors open for registration and warmups at noon. The contest is for boys and girls ages 14 and under. Trophies will go to the winners and medals to 2nd and 3rd place participants in each age group. Ages 9-14 are competing for a chance to move on to the District competition to be held in February. Please contact Robby Spexarth (316) 207-3028 with questions or if you are willing to assist with this event. High schoolers are welcome to help, which will count towards volunteer hours.
Bingo will start this Sunday, January 13th. This year we will begin at 6:30 pm. Bingo will be on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month, January through April. One exeption being February 10th (Super Bowl weekend), we will not host bingo this evening. The bingos are a great community activity that the whole family can come out and enjoy. Hope to see everyone there! Please contact Bryce Seiler (316) 518-8054 if you would like to help or pick up volunteer hours.
The Red Cross Blood Drive took place on December 20th. I would like to give a big thank you to Mark and Diane Baalmann for organizing the event and to everyone that donated.
The annual dues notices were emailed to you. Please check your junk mail if you did not receive before contacting Tony Veith. Thank you to the Brother Knights that have already sent in their dues. Please return your dues promptly per the instructions on the notice. Our dues support council charitable activities in our area, state level initiatives through the state council and the Knights of Columbus magazine, COLUMBIA.
Brother Justin Reichenberger and his family are taking care of cleaning and booking the hall for rentals. If you need to rent the hall or know someone who does, please contact Justin at 316-258-1170
