Brother Knights,
Andale Knights of Columbus will meet at the K of C hall on Wednesday, February 11th at 8:00 pm.
We will start with a rosary followed by the Council meeting and conclude with refreshments.
The Gerard House baby shower is going to continue until February 14th. If you still have items that you would like to donate, you can bring them to the February meeting, place them in the box in the back of church.
I want to give a huge shoutout to the Brother Knights who continue to show and be involved in making this council thrive. Each year our council continues to grow and so does the participation with events, meetings, and fellowship. Since our last meeting we have had the following successful events for our council and the community.
Freethrow Contest: This year posed some challenges with the weather and rec league tournament rescheduling, but our guys adapted and made it happen. 51 kids under the age of 14 with participants in every age group and gender, came out to compete. approximately half of the 9-14 yr old age group moved on to regionals in both boys and girls divisions. Huge thanks is in order to Brother Robby Spexarth for spearheading and all the volunteers who gave their time to make this a successful event.
New Member Exemplification: On Saturday February 7th, we conducted a 3rd degree exemplification for 10 new candidates that were able to attend in person. Another 7+ plan to attend prior to the meeting this Wednesday. In preparation for Saturday’s event, a group of Knights took it upon themselves to recruit, coordinate, plan, and cook an amazing meal that made the evening memorable. After the exemplification, new and existing members and their spouses joined together for the meal and refreshments enstilling commaraderie and fellowship as we as Knights are called to do. Thank you to Joe Penny, Joe Dvorak, Robby Spexarth for professing the invitation at our parish masses and the Kitchen crew for organizing and putting this on.
Bingo is in full swing for the 2026 season and will continue to be on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month, through April. The bingos are a great community activity that the whole family can come out and enjoy. Hope to see everyone there! Huge shoutout to Bryce Seiler for heading this up every year and coordinating the teams and prizes. We are still in need of a team of four to commit to only 2 of these weekends. The second iteration ofl dues notices were sent out on February 9th. Please return your dues promptly per the instructions on the notice if you have not done so already. Our dues support our charitable activities in our communities, parishes, and state level initiatives through the state council. If you have any questions, please contact Tony Veith, (316) 648-7180.
Brother Justin Reichenberger and his family are taking care of cleaning and booking the hall for rentals. If you need to rent the hall or know someone who does, please contact Justin at 316-258-1170
