Brother Knights,
The Andale Knights of Columbus met Wednesday, August 12th at 8:00 pm at the Knights of Columbus Hall. The following was discussed.
During Summerfest our council hosted a 3 on 3 basketball tournament for grades 4th – 12th at the Andale Summerfest on August 8th . We had a great turnout with over 45 kids signing up to play with prizes donated by local businesses. Huge shoutout to Joe Dvorak, Andy Coiner, Joe Westerhaus, and Garrett Parthemer for orchestrating the event. We also had a parade float and served ice cream after dinner at the parish hall. This was a great example of members taking initiative and getting active in the community to spread our name, promote the Knights, and gain community exposure.
Also over the summer, we had some Brother Knights step up and make some updates to the hall from replacing the kitchen sink and making plumbing modifications, to resourcing new bathroom partitions. We are fortunate to have resourceful members with connections to do these upgrades at little to no cost and appreciate the time donated to make our hall more efficient. Recognition goes to Steve Fitch, Moe Lallement and Andy Galliher for taking these tasks on.
On Saturday, September 26th we will be hosting a 3rd degree exemplification for new members joining our council. We will start with a social at 6:00pm and ceremony will begin at 6:30 (30-45 min duration). Wives are invited to join for dinner and refreshment following the ceremony. Please join in welcome these new members and share in the camaraderie If you know of anyone who would like to join, please reach out myself or Tony Veith (316-648-7180) and we will get the necessary forms ready for them.
Opportunities for Involvement
“Pro Football Frenzy Raffle Ticket Fundraiser”: This is the biggest fundraiser for our council over the last several years and it allows us to be generous with our donations. That money has stayed in our community and helped a lot of good causes, so please help sell tickets and support this cause. If you would like to purchase or tickets, please contact Robby Spexarth 316-207-3028 or myself 620-960-9336. Tickets stubs and money will need to be turned in by Labor Day. I would like to challenge all members to purchase at least one ticket and sell what they can.
Bartending Events: We are coming up on a year since we began advertising our council for bartending services. Since then, we have served at 5 weddings, 1 anniversary party, and raised over $4,200.00. We have 2 more events coming up soon and potential others in conversation. It is a great time and a fun way to spend time with other Brother Knights. Ideally we could get 8-9 volunteers per event and work in shifts so please reach out to Ryan Bergkamp (316-641-4824) if you can help.

Religious Education Raffle: Our council has 13 raffle tickets for sale. This initiative funds religious education through the Kansas State K of C Council. There are 25 Prizes: (1) $30,000, (1) $10,000, (6) $5,000, (9) $2,000, and (8) $1,000. Tickets are $100/ea and will need turned in by 10/15/26 for the drawing on 12/5/26. Please contact myself at 620-960-9336 if you are interested in purchasing one of these.
Brother Justin Reichenberger and his family are taking care of cleaning and booking the hall for rentals. If you need to rent the hall or know someone who does, please give them Justin’s number 316-258-1170.
